The Recruitment Process
What is the Hanover Research recruiting process like?
From initial phone conversation to offer, your candidate experience is important and we tailor our approach to the needs and requirements of each position. Throughout the process, a Recruiter will keep you informed on the next step in the hiring process and will serve as an advocate and guide.
Most positions begin with an initial virtual conversation with one of our recruiting team members to assess overall fit – for you and for us. We incorporate a personality assessment for our roles to get a better sense of how you like to work – both individually and as part of a team. Our research roles emphasize writing skills and our account and management roles evaluate verbal communications.

Additional Questions
When should I expect to hear back from Hanover Research after applying for a position?
Typically, you can expect to hear back from us within 24–48 hours.
I am interested in several positions. Can I apply for more than one position at a time?
Yes. You are welcome to apply to all positions that you feel you are qualified for. You can also note your broader interest in your cover letter.
I am applying for a research position, what are you looking for in my writing sample?
Your original writing sample should demonstrate your ability to effectively use primary and/or secondary research. The sample should synthesize the information into a cohesive report. Suggestions for types of submissions include, but are not limited to academic papers, business pieces, or published articles.
Why is the personality assessment a component of the hiring process?
The Berke personality assessment test has been created to gauge job, company, and cultural fit. It helps in assessing talents and traits, such as creative problem solving, emotional responses to stress, logical problem solving, and sociability. These traits are often difficult to assess through a traditional interview or by reviewing written materials. Using the assessment with application materials helps the hiring team decide if an individual fits the role and team. Building cohesive and collaborative teams is a fundamental aspect of our hiring process. The test is not a finite measure of success in the role; instead, it allows us to apply a different (and completely objective) lens when considering applicants.
What happens to my profile once I have applied?
Your application will be immediately forwarded to the recruiter responsible for the position in the order it was received. If based on your qualifications you are selected to be considered, you will be contacted by the recruiter. If you are not being considered for the position, you will be notified by email and we will retain your interest and resume for future opportunities.
