To guide the purposeful integration of AI, we started with a co-created district vision. About 50 faculty members were involved in summer work on this. Our guiding principle is ‘AI powered, human centered.’ It’s about preparing students not just to live in an AI-driven world, but to lead in it, with creativity, empathy, and ethical purpose.
Along with the vision statement, we have a code of ethics, an academic integrity policy, and privacy protections. Those are the elemental pieces. If you don’t have those in place, you’re not really walling off your garden in a way that you’re supporting your faculty and students.
