The Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) is committed to measuring the levels of achievement of its youth participants and how determine how effectively the organization’s Club Experience is implemented. When evaluating this impact in its 2014 National Youth Outcomes Report, the organization applied research from Hanover.
As noted in the report, BGCA constantly seeks to extend and maximize the learning that can be gleaned from its data collection and analysis efforts for the benefit of all Clubs. In the past year, BGCA collaborated closely with Hanover to combine existing national youth outcomes initiative data with additional data collected through new tools.
In 2014, as a complement to the organization’s National Outcomes Survey, BGCA and Hanover developed and administered an online survey to Club staff to learn how specific staff practices relate to the Club Experience. The results of this survey are featured on pages 10-11 of the BGCA’s report to articulate the links between the Club Experience and member outcomes, as well as to illuminate the connections between staff practices and the Club Experience.
