With nearly a million fewer students enrolled in college than before the COVID-19 pandemic, many people continue to question the value, affordability, and relevance of a college degree. To stabilize enrollment, higher education leaders must listen carefully to college-bound students to understand what they’re looking for in an institution, what motivates them to apply, and what factors influence where they ultimately enroll.
To find out what moves potential students from applicants to enrollees, Hanover Research surveyed more than 1,000 admitted undergraduate and graduate students across the United States in April 2022.
