A Hanover partner is developing a new multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) framework as part of its strategic plan and has partnered with Hanover Research on a series of mixed-methods projects to provide research support for district-wide MTSS implementation. To begin the implementation process, districts can use this evidence-based tool to evaluate readiness to implement MTSS. Although several organizations have developed tools to assess MTSS implementation and readiness, these tools vary in their specificity and alignment with the secondary literature on MTSS implementation readiness. The tool developed by Hanover, however, draws directly from the literature on MTSS readiness.
This tool is intended to support district staff in reviewing their district’s current level of readiness for system-wide implementation of its new MTSS framework. Users can assess the extent of current implementation of specific actions essential for MTSS to inform plans that will move their district to the next level of implementation. Hanover recommends that district leaders convene a team of school and district administrators to complete the self-assessment.
