In a time of shrinking student enrollments, decreased state funding, and high attrition rates, our college needs additional revenue streams to remain flexible, affordable, competitive, and relevant. As is the case with most small rural community colleges, we do not have the expertise to generate ideas and subsequently support capacity building at our institution to regularly submit competitive grant proposals that are strategically aligned with the university’s mission and priorities.
Hanover is just what the doctor ordered. Hanover’s guidance will enable us to have a more comprehensive approach to build our institutional capacity to pursue and manage grant funding. We plan to utilize all of the support areas available to us during our membership (e.g., strategic assessment, one-on-one guidance, structure development, reviews, benchmarking, training sessions, and full writing service).
ASU-Newport provides an accessible, affordable, quality education that transforms the lives of its students, enriches its communities, and strengthens the regional economy. Over the years, ASU-Newport has grown from one campus to three and now boasts enrollment exceeding 2,000 students.
