Rogers Public Schools (RPS) is committed to fostering a culture of data-informed decision-making. Our goal is to anchor decisions in evidence rather than feeling.
We decided to partner with Hanover to strengthen, not replace, local decision-making by providing objective research, data, and best-practice insights that support informed choices. With recent changes in education in Arkansas, we want to ensure that every stakeholder, from students and families to staff and community partners, can trust the rationale behind RPS’s strategic plan.
This year, our primary focus is ensuring that all programs, including scheduling decisions, align with the district’s core values and commitment to student learning.
We will examine secondary scheduling models, with a particular emphasis on block scheduling, to determine how schedules among five high school campuses can best support student success. Additionally, we will explore innovative educational opportunities, including the potential implementation of an elementary microschool model, to better meet the needs of our students and community.
While we undertake this immediate work, we will continue to advance the district’s 3–5-year strategic plan by establishing goals aligned with our mission, vision, and core values. The goal of the process is to capture insights from each decision cycle to improve future planning. This allows us to identify and prioritize key initiatives that support sustainability for the long-term district vision of being the school of choice in Northwest Arkansas and graduating students who are ready to enroll, enlist, or employ.
